Barista 101 is our entry level course and gateway for all coffee enthusiasts.

This course is for anyone interested in coffee from the home barista to the practising professional, no experience required.

We recommended all students complete BARISTA 101 regardless of experience as it covers the core fundamentals critical for further training.

You will learn the following modules covering both theoretical and hands on learning:

  • Coffee extraction theory
  • Coffee tamping procedure
  • Coffee recipe theory
  • Coffee dosing procedure
  • Milk steaming theory

  • Equipment cleaning
  • The 1% & coffee crimes

All equipment, products and accessories are provided to facilitate your successful completion of this course.

You will have an opportunity to sample the products you create and purchase additional products at the end of the course.

To maximise effectiveness and comfort for yourself and your colleagues please:

  • Arrive 10min early ready to start sharp
  • Bring a notepad or device to take notes
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes
  • Be prepared to get a little bit dirty
  • Dark clothes are a good idea
  • Bring an open mind and willingness to learn
  • Write down any questions you may have
